Expectations and Results
It is very important to let go of the outcome while setting intentions. There are a few reasons for this:
1. Even though your personality may want something, God or your soul may have other plans for you, plans which actually may be better for you in the long run.
2. Not everything that we want can be manifested, due to the free will of others. We cannot change the destiny of another whose soul has decided it is time to cross over, for example. To do so would be to violate their free will and short circuit their soul growth.
3. The more we expect and attach to an outcome, the more we are in a space of neediness and desire, which blocks our connection to spirit and our ability to be in the "flow" of life.
4. We can't control everything. Certain "earth changes" such as earthquakes, bad weather, and other natural disasters may simply be the natural rhythms of the planet and have nothing to do with human willpower. It may be more productive to focus energies on lessening the human toll of natural disasters.
Above all, it's important to ask for and expect the best, but to also trust that people are on the paths they need to be on. We may desperately want for our sick brother to be well, but we cannot change his destiny if God or his soul has decided, for whatever the reason, that being sick is the path he needs to be on right now. We must accept and allow people to be on their own individual paths. We must also learn to honor our own paths and struggles.
If we put out an intention that does not happen, this is not a reason to get upset or berate ourselves for "blocking" our prosperity. It simply means that something else was meant to be. So please use the power of prayer and positive thinking, because it can be quite wonderful and powerful, but also learn the power of acceptance and letting go.
