One Person is Making a Difference in the Life of a Homeless Man
What an inspiring story this is. Jonathan Grant, who lives in Los Angeles, started talking to a homeless guy named Edward who he met in front of his local convenience store. Edward was a nice guy who is proud to have stayed off drugs even while dealing with the harshness of the street.
Jonathan decided to help, and began to work towards getting Edward a place to live in a job. How? By trading items on Craigslist.
While the concept has been done before (a guy traded a red paper clip up to get a house), it has never been done to help a homeless person. Jonathan started with a blue push pin and now has a $3,000 Apple computer to trade!
Let's send some positive vibes over to Edward, and see him in the perfect new job in a safe and secure home.

Blankets used on airlines
My brother works for a major airline and he told me any blanket that has been used the airline throws away. They say it is easier to throw away than clean. I've had what I think is an inspiration. I'd like to get the word out to travelers that if they use a blank have it mailed to me. I will then wash them and distribute them where they are needed. I am calling it "Blankets for You." Of course, homeless can use anything but some people with a contastrophe like a fire or flood could also use a blanket. I welcome comments on this idea. Thanks
Great idea!
I had no idea that blankets from airplanes were thrown away after one use. I am surprised that the airlines don't do something else with them, what with the "green" movement.
